Research Informatics Training

Our open course programme enables participants to access relevant training at fixed times throughout the year. We recognise that this fixed nature, combined with the finite availability on these courses, can be limiting. This is why we offer bespoke cohort training opportunities.

We have many years of experience organising and delivering these programmes. This bespoke cohort training is delivered across a range of Departments and Institutions within the University, affiliated Institutions and external partners.

Why bespoke training?

There are several advantages to having this tailored approach to the training for your students or team.

  • We can offer a tailored training programme, based on the experience level and needs of the participants.
  • Bespoke training allows us to schedule training sessions based on your availability and at a venue that is convenient for you.
  • Training together allows you to foster a cohort identity, which enables important connections beyond the training itself.

Costs

We keep costs in-line with our standard charging policy, where we have two rates: a concessionary charge and a full charge. We charge based on a session rate, where each session is half a day of training.

Briefly, the two rates are charged as follows:

  1. Concessionary, which applies to most academics, charity organisations and public & governmental bodies. The charge is £32.50/participant per session.
  2. Full rate, which is anybody who does not qualify for the concessionary rate. This charge is £65/participant per session.

Generally, we require a minimum of 10 participants per cohort and smaller cohorts can be discussed on a case-by-case basis. The costs are based on the number of registered participants.
