"Cell death is an important process not only during development, but throughout our entire life. When it doesn't work as it's supposed to, it usually results in severe disease. I conduct fundamental research into how cell death pathways are regulated at a molecular level so that we can eventually try to design drugs that either prevent infection or cure disease."
