PhD Student, Department of Clinical Neurosciences

Biography

I am a PhD student studying mitochondrial genomics in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences and the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit. Before the PhD, I was a bioinformatician specialising in neurodegenerative diseases, epigenomics, and transcriptomics at the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) Imperial College Centre.

Research

My PhD project focuses on investigating single-cell mitochondrial DNA mutations in the human brain during development, ageing, and neurodegeneration. My project is supervised by Professor Patrick F. Chinnery, the Head of the Department of Clinical Neurosciences and the Executive Chair of the Medical Research Council (MRC).
